  •  K-3rd basketball and Open League sign up ends December 21st!
  • The 4th Annual Thanksgiving Feast was a huge success! Serving over 300 meals!
  • The 25th Annual A.B.A.T.E Toy Run provided lunch and toys for 150 kids and

their families.

  • The club will be closed December 22-25 and December 31-January 1 for the holidays. 
  • 20 youth members participated in

Level Up’s Great Gift Exchange where they had dinner, played on inflatables and received presents.

 

 

 

November 2011

  • 391 4th -7th graders are participating in basketball this season!
  • 4th Annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held Thursday November 17th!
  • The Club is now open Sundays for family time from 1-5pm!
  • The 3rd JCPenney Round Up of the year was a success, raising $2,354 for the Club.
  • The club recently held the Ward 4 Town Hall Meeting!
  • Sign-up for K-3rd grade basketball is now in full swing!

 

 

October 2011

  • 4th – 7th Grade tackle teams played at Razorback Stadium on October 15th!
  • Basketball Registration for 4th-7th grade late deadline is October 22nd!
  • Asbell Elementary attended the Club for programming during their October intersession.
  • JCPenney is conducting its 3rd Round up of the year to raise funds for the Club!
  • K-Kids, a Kiwanis service club for students in elementary school begins at the Club.
  • Feltner Brothers raised over $750 for kids Halloween costumes with their 2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest! Congratulations to defending champ and YPD Coordinator Paul Gehrki!

 

 

September 2011

  • 513 2nd -7th graders are participating in tackle football and 107 K & 1st graders are playing flag this season!
  • Creative Cats afterschool program partnership with Washington Elementary began its 2nd year!
  • We are discussing a partnership with Asbell Elementary for programming during their intersessions.
  • OutReach is off and running visiting 3 housing sites and Washington Elementary each week!   

 

 

 

August 2011

  • 140 4th -7th graders are participating in 7-on-7 football this season!
  • JCPenney Grand Re-Opening provided the club with a $2,000 gift and a new school outfit for 10 Club members.
  • There were 5,290 unique visits to the Club by youth members this summer from June 13th-August 12th.
  • SKC is off and running with 10 sites and 200 children participating in the first week of the school year!      
  • From June 18th – August 15th we had 66 reservations that included birthday parties, church picnics and other organization’s meetings!

 

  

 

June 2011

  • 239 1-7th graders participated in our first week of zing!
  • During the first week of summer there were 1,413 visits by youth members.
  • A group of volunteers from Trout Unlimited taught a fly fishing class that included a fishing trip to Dry Run Creek
  • SKC has two sites this summer, Owl Creek and Vandergriff, with approximately 80 children participating. 
  • From May 16th – June 18th we had 44 reservations that included birthday parties, company picnics and a wedding reception!

 

 

April - May 2011

  • 6 staff members visited the PARK Program in Little Rock.
  • Cox Communications will be the Presenting Sponsor of this year’s zing! Program with a donation valued at $10,000 (cash and advertising)
  • The Club hosted a Boys & Girls Club Professional Association meeting for Western Arkansas with over 30 members attending.
  • Easter at the Club was a huge success with approximately 2,000 community members attending. 
  • From April 1st – May 15th we had 61 reservations that included birthday parties, meetings and Project Graduations!

 

  

March 2011

  • 8 Keystone members attended the national conference in Orlando, Florida!
  • We received a $10,000 grant from General Mills for our new Be Fit! program!
  • FHS senior and Club member for 12 years, Cashay Parker, was named as our Club’s Youth of the Year!
  • From Feb.13th-Mar.13th we had 25 reservations that included birthday parties, meetings and even an Ultimate Frisbee tournament!

  • We received a $143,500 matching gift from the Walker Foundation!
  • 573 K-3rd graders are participating in basketball!
  • Youth members attended a performance of Ferdinand the Bull at the Walton Arts Center.
  • Keystone Club has been raising money for their trip to Keystone National Conference in Orlando, FL next month.
